Synthesis and electrical transport of single-crystal N[H.sub.4][V.sub.3][O.sub.8] nanobelts
Article Abstract:
A study reports the synthesis, electrical transport measurements, and conduction mechanism of a novel nanostructure, N[H.sub.4][V.sub.3][O.sub.8] single-crystalline nanobelts, which grow along the direction of [0l0]. The individual N[H.sub.4][V.sub.3][O.sub.8] nanobelt shows nonlinear, symmetric current/voltage (I/V) characteristics, with a conductivity of 0.1-1 S/cm at room temperature and a dielectric constant of ~130.

Environmentally friendly chemical route to vanadium oxide single-crystalline nanobelts as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries
Article Abstract:
An environmentally friendly approach for the synthesis of orthorhombic [V.sub.2][O.sub.5] single-crystalline nanobelts in the [H.sub.2][O.sub.2] aqueous solution on a large scale is reported. The experimental finding demonstrates that the use of a nanosized belt-like structure could considerably enhance the specific discharge capacity in lithium-ion batteries.

Molybdenum trioxide (Mo[O.sub.3]) nanostructures with different morphologies are synthesized on a large scale by an environmentally friendly chemical route. The environmentally friendly chemical route may be extended to synthesize nanostructures of other metal (W, Ti, and Cr) oxides.
